Now that spring break is upon us with school children, hopefully they will find healthy activities to keep them busy.
I was enjoying the game of softball with my granddaughter in the ball fields of Wilbur Avenue. Boys and girls seem to be really in the game, and it is still frustrating for parents and grandparents to watch the development leagues.
Yes, it is intended to teach the game of baseball for children, but sometimes you wonder if they have ever watched a game of major league baseball on television or been to AT & T Park or the Coliseum of Oakland. So we smile and bear it as another runner walked with the bases loaded or they miss catching the ball.
But there are actually some shiny coins, including the triple play in a game last week!
People who take care of ball fields have done an excellent job, but they could in the water the infield before games, when the wind gets up, there was dust everywhere.
And referees for every need of a hand brush, kicking the dirt marble is simply not working.
Like referees that uses balls and strikes. Unfortunately, those who do not leave everyone wondering what the Count. Even the poor hitters have no idea they just got the ball up to four coaches tell them to head to first base.
It was great to see the owner of Bases Loaded, Terry Karp, reacting to the loss of baseball equipment from Park Middle School. Heck, thieves have even stolen bases!Terry made a plea for new and used gloves, bats and baseball and come with a large collection of file to school after spring break. Well done, Terry!
On another note, there is a house on the street in front of G Marsh Elementary that looks as if she wants to be a garage sale or simply decided to store everything on the outside. Maybe if someone is always effective implementation of the Code for mayor, they could do a drive-by and ask the owner to clean up his act.

Congratulations to the Rev.Nicolas Alexander for the residents of Sycamore corridor mobilized for peace and civility in the neighborhood. Reverend lives in the region that has seen very recent grizzly shots. There are good people who live there, and they deserve to live without fear that their children are out of the game Hopefully the Antioch Police Department can help these people.
