'The Real Housewives of Orange County' Recap: 'Kiss and Tell'

Brings viewers more of the drama the OC wives are known for; Vicki and Alexis attempt to make amends, Gretchen gets a birthday surprise and Tamra’s real relationship with Fernanda is exposed.

It’s Gretchen’s birthday on this epi sode and Gretchen explains that Slade is unemployed and has no income.  She's not all that thrilled that Slade takes her to an art studio for her birthday.  She expects jewelry…from a man who she admits has no job and no income.  Gretchen does perk up, though, when it’s revealed that Slade’s friend has painted a portrait of her.  Only then does she think Slade’s birthday surprise is awesome.

Alexis and Vicki attempt to make amends about the old and worn out mace incident.  Vicki says she didn’t think Tamra’s mace “joke” was appropriate anyway.  The two ladies have a conversation about putting the past behind them, which both agree is for the best.  Vicki asks about Alexis’s new dress line.  No, Alexis isn’t a designer.  No, Alexis doesn’t sew.  According to Alexis, she’s qualified to come out with a clothing line just because she has good fashion sense, something which Vicki thinks is absurd.

Peggy and Tamra are asked to model in a fashion show.  During the initial fittings, Jeana Keough makes her first guest appearance on this season’s The Real Housewives of Orange County as she’s also been asked to be in the fashion show as well.  Tamra isn’t happy about Jeana showing up since Jeana remains good friends with Simon.  In her interview, Jeana blames Tamra for the divorce, saying Tamra didn’t give Simon the chance to fix what was broken.  Tamra is guarded with Jeana in their conversation at the fitting since she knows everything she says to Jeana will make its way back to Simon.

Lynne Curtain also makes a guest appearance in Episode 8.  Lynne, Tamra and Fernanda are supposed to meet up at the gym to work out together, but Tamra doesn’t show.  The fact that Tamra doesn’t make it to the gym somehow ends up in Fernanda revealing to Lynne that she and Tamra had a “silly moment” last year during Season 7.  According to Fernanda, at Tamra’s birthday party last year, Fernanda and Tamra shared a kiss and a connection in the bathroom of the restaurant where Tamra’s party was held.  It’ll be interesting to see what this revelation will do to Fernanda and Tamra’s friendship.
